13th National Tour
Our 56 touring choristers from Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney have recently returned from the choir's 13th National Tour of Canberra, Kiama, Launceston and Hobart, which saw the girls take part in over 26 performances and workshops throughout the two week period.
One particularly special moment of the tour was an invitation from the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, to perform at a dinner at Government House in recognition of the contributions made by individuals during the response and recovery efforts following last year's bushfire and flood emergencies. Sixteen of our choristers performed I Am Australian' and Ain't No Mountain' for the guests and received a very warm applause and heartfelt thanks from the Governor-General.
There were many other tour highlights which included performing at Parliament House in Canberra, the Festival of Voices Concert in Hobart, a trip to the breathtaking Cradle Mountain and a visit to every girl's dream destination - the Cadbury Chocolate Factory! Throughout the tour many new friendships were formed, not only amongst our choristers, but with host families, schools and choirs we had the pleasure of staying with.
Congratulations to all of our touring choristers on being such wonderful ambassadors for the choir; we are very proud of your achievements!
12th International Tour
Fifty-five members of Performing Choir and Camerata have recently arrived home on Aussie soil, after taking part in the choir's 12th International Tour which travelled to Italy, France and Hong Kong over a three week period.
During the twenty-four day tour, the girls were hosted with local school and choral groups, and were involved in over twenty performances and workshops, as well as sightseeing in each destination. Travelling to destinations including Rome, Florence, Marostica, Venice, Belluno, Paris and Hong Kong, the cultural and performance experiences were many and varied and included:

Wow! You guys are amazing! What a generous, talented, polished and FUN group you are. I have felt completely privileged to be involved in your tour and consider you part of our choir family from now on. You should be proud of the way your girls have conducted themselves. They are credit to you as leaders and to us Aussies as ambassadors. I feel enriched, as do the rest of Waratah Girls Choir community, from meeting with you and partnering in this part of your tour. Congratulations.
