National Breast Cancer Foundation Ambassadors We are absolutely thrilled to announce that beginning in 2009 we will be aligned with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). Our role as Ambassadors for the NBCF will be announced on Pink Ribbon Day, and we are sincerely looking forward to working with NBCF on future projects. To launch this wonderful relationship, our girls have been invited to sing at the Pink Ribbon Breakfast at Federation Square on Monday October 27 which will be broadcast on MIX FM. Welcome Home of the Olympians We were thrilled to greet our Aussie Olympic Team as they arrived home on a Qantas chartered flight following the games. Our girls sang as the athletes disembarked the plane, and their performance was shown on 'Sunrise', 'Today' and other news broadcasts. The girls were very excited to have the chance to meet many of the athletes and to see their medals up close!
Sir Donald Bradman Centenary Dinner Our Sydney choristers were the big finale item at this black-tie dinner, performing 'I Still Call Australia Home' at the end of the night. Several lucky girls also had the chance to meet Hugh Jackman who was hosting the evening - visit the gallery section on our website to see the photos!
Bledisloe Cup Watch out for our girls performing 'I Still Call Australia Home' prior to the Wallabies vs All Blacks game on September 13. 2008 Qantas Girls from Oz Tour of Far North QLD Qantas and QantasLink joined with the Australian Girls Choir to present the 2008 Qantas Girls from Oz Tour to Far North Queensland and Torres Strait. Twenty four of the most talented members of the Australian Girls Choir travelled to Cairns, Thursday Island, Bamaga and Weipa reaching more than 1500 students in our song and dance workshops and hundreds more people in their community performances. World Youth Day Welcome Concert Eighty-five of our senior choristers from Sydney recently performed at the Welcome Concert for World Youth Day. The concert, which also featured Guy Sebastian, Damien Leith, Paulini Curuenavuli's and the Tap Dogs, was attended by over 150,000 pilgrims as part of the opening event held at Barangaroo in Darling Harbour.
