Introduction

Over the past 26 years the Australian Girls Choir has delighted audiences across Australia and around the world with their beautiful singing, stunning choreographed items and spectacular stage presentation. Performing at major national and international events, on television and in recording studios, the Australian Girls Choir has earned the reputation as the most dynamic girls’ choir in the country.

The choir has an entertaining and diverse repertoire including much loved Aussie tunes, upbeat and inspirational items, a variety of Broadway show tunes, songs from other cultures and of course Christmas Carols! We like to challenge the traditional image of a choir, combining exquisite voices with professionally choreographed dance moves and immaculate presentation. We are also very flexible and happy to work with you to tailor our repertoire and performance style to suit different themes and events.

Event organisers often comment on our girls’ professionalism, impeccable behaviour and their wonderful ability to connect and interact with different audiences. In our 26 year history, we have performed at every type of event including International Conferences, live Television and Radio Events, Gala and Charity Dinners, Music Festivals and Concerts, Product and Media Launches, Sporting Events and private functions.

The Australian Girls Choir is best recognised for its involvement in the highly successful Qantas ’I Still Call Australia Home’ advertising campaigns. Filmed in spectacular locations around Australia and the world, the campaigns have provided our choristers with once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and broadened their horizons musically, culturally and personally.

Every year the girls are invited to perform at events that give them a unique opportunity to meet some amazing people and performers. Our girls have performed with many Australian stars including Hugh Jackman, John Farnham, Delta Goodrem, Olivia Newton-John, Brian McFadden, Christine Anu, Kate Ceberano, Melinda Schneider, David Campbell and Marina Prior; they have entertained dignitaries including Nelson Mandela, Queen Elizabeth II, Pope Benedict XVI, and the Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

In 2000 the girls were honoured to perform for Nelson Mandela at World Reconciliation Day Celebrations in Sydney and Melbourne. There was not a dry eye in the house when Mr Mandela took the time to meet each of our choristers individually. To one chorister he was heard to say "You make me very happy", she replied "You make us happy too".

The Performing Choir consists of approximately 60 - 80 choristers in each state, however we are able to provide a group as small as 15 choristers. On occasion the senior levels of the choir combine to form a larger group of up to 150 choristers; this requires considerable organisation but creates a powerful massed choir sound and presentation. Younger choristers are sometimes involved in performances that require a more youthful sound and look.
